Formed in 1988, Tech CADCAM will celebrate 20 successful years' trading in April.
The vision for the company at the time it was set up was for a PC on every engineer’s desk, and its first 10 years saw it bring affordable Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) solutions to many of the UK’s engineering companies.
In 1998, Tech CADCAM introduced the first solid modelling based version of the GibbsCAM programming system to the UK and “has not looked back”, says managing director Kevin Molloy.
The company has focused on GibbsCAM since then and during this period the product has seen continual growth with the addition of solutions for multi-turret multi-spindle machines (MTM) and 5-axis simultaneous machining.
The last 12 months have seen a massive 60 per cent increase in the sales of GibbsCAM products in the UK, with most sales coming in the more complex machining categories of MTM and 5 -axis simultaneous machining.
