Surface grinders from XYZ in MACH Grinding Zone

XYZ Machine Tools will demonstrate the 2 hp/3000 rpm spindle motor XYZ 1020 surface grinder in the Grinding Zone at MACH 2010, the smallest machine in its four model range of hydraulically powered surface grinders.

Recent customers for XYZ surface grinders include MHV Products of Ashford, Middlesex, which specialises in prototype and small batch work, and Federal Aerospace Engineering of Wolverhampton, which provides a one stop design and manufacturing service for the defence, nuclear and aerospace industries. The 1020 surface grinder model was supplied to Federal Aerospace, while MHV Products opted for the larger XYZ 1224, which has a maximum grinding length of 609 mm, compared with 500 mm for the XYZ 1020. Both companies decided to buy because the range features relatively large table in a relatively small footprint, 3,250 mm (L) by 2,400 (W) for the 1020 model, and 3,550 mm (L) by 2,550 mm (W) for the 1224 model. With a maximum grinding length of 1,050 mm (longitudinal) and a 500 mm by 1,050 mm table/magnetic chuck size, the 10 hp/1,450 rpm spindle motor/3 hp hydraulic motor XYZ 2040, is the largest of the four models available from XYZ, all of which are fully equipped and available ex-stock.
