Software Paradise becomes sole distributor for PartBrowser

As well as conventional visual and text search of files or properties, CAD files can be found using PartBrowser's 'browse-by-shape' technology. The DuplicateFinder add-on gives additional search functionality to PartBrowser, allowing duplicates and geometrically similar parts to be found, facilitating rationalisation of parts libraries. PartBrowser was developed from research at Daimler Chrysler by Aberdeen Group, which identified: • 45% of an engineer's total time is spent looking for parts • 27% of total time is routinely spent looking through databases and in-house libraries • 18% of total time is devoted to re-entering and re-creating part information that already exists but can't easily be found. PartBrowser reduces this lost time by increasing design reuse and improving part management through the identification and rationalisation, of duplicate components.
