Robot, connector and textile equipment specialist Stäubli has moved to a brand new facility at Hadley Park East, Telford, following continued market growth and the associated increase in its workforce.

This latest move provides Stäubli with 50% more space and room to grow further. It will enable the company to present and display its products in an interactive showroom environment, as well as providing improved meeting and conference facilities. The move also allows, for the first time in the UK, the Stäubli Connectors Division to display its full range of products in a dedicated exhibition area, providing customers with a 'hands on' evaluation opportunity. For example, plastic moulding companies will be able to view the latest quick mould change and clamping systems, as well as the mould connectors that can add significantly to their competitiveness; electronics companies can view the latest innovative connectors for liquid cooling systems that are capable of dispersing the higher temperatures now being produced by high power electronics in data centres, and automotive customers can review the latest engine test bed connections and rapid tool changing solutions. Robotics customers will be able to use dedicated demonstration cells, providing them with the opportunity to evaluate and adapt realistic simulations of any planned automation, and develop the optimum cycle times for Stäubli's robots. Typical robot installations can be mirrored in the cells, demonstrating to customers how these multi-axis, flexible robots can be used in a wide spread of applications, from automotive to specialist pharmaceutical and drug discovery, to plastics and food. Stäubli has been based in Telford for 25 years, locating on Stafford Park when the Robotics Division formed Stäubli Unimation, following the acquisition of the leading robot manufacturer Unimation, manufacturer of the ground breaking Unimate and PUMA industrial robots. Its activities concentrated on high speed, high accuracy and adaptable robotics, used in industry for many automation solutions. Stäubli Connectors Division was formed back in 1956, providing high technology, quick-release connectors used across industry in many demanding applications, from motorsport to defence, plastics moulding to electronics cooling; providing an easy-to-use, spill- and leak-free robust connections, typically for hydraulics, coolants, gases and fuels. Stäubli Textile division has been developing and producing high quality systems for the weaving industry since 1892. The group provides innovative, technological solutions that satisfy weaving mills having high expectations, in terms of productivity, cost efficiency, reliability and quality. From the company's initial base on Stafford Park, Stäubli has moved twice within Telford; first in 2005 onto Lodge Park, Hortonwood and now to this brand new facility at Hadley Park East.
