Hawkins has been in the industry for over 25 years, starting his career as an apprentice and working his way up to the position of production engineer and service engineer with a number of companies. For more than 10 years he has worked as a regional and technical sales manager with well-known cutting tool and machine tool brands. Commenting upon joining Romi, Hawkins says: “The opportunity was too good to miss. Also a time-served apprentice, Balfour started his engineering career almost 40 years ago. His journey has taken in significant periods as an application and sales engineer in the cutting tool and machine tool industry. Balfour’s time in machine tool sales has included long periods with vendors of both cost-effective machine tools as well as high-end technology solution providers.
