CNC Training Academy and Cambridge Numerical Control to stage CNC software training Open House in October, on Thursday 25.

The CNC Training Academy, in partnership with Cambridge Numerical Control, is holding a CNC software familiarisation and training Open House at its facility in Leamington Sp. Titled 'Raising Your Game', the event is aimed at precision manufacturers looking to get the most and the best from their CNC machine tools, and will focus on the productivity and performance benefits of two leading software solution programs - Cimco's MDC-Max and Delcam's FeatureCam. "Many manufacturers could become more productive and increase their competitiveness, as a result, if they could (or knew how to) exploit the full potential of their CNC machine tools," says Jeff Hart, CNC Training Academy manager. "This Open House, as its title suggests, aims to provide manufacturers with an appreciation of what an investment in the latest software could bring. The Open House has been designed to be a practical, hands-on event and we will be using a number of Doosan machines located within Mills CNC's facility to demonstrate the power, sophistication and ease-of-use of MDC-Max and FeatureCam." MDC-Max is a real-time software machine tool data collection system that generates instant reports concerning shopfloor and individual machine tool's productivity. It indicates: what jobs are in production; how many parts have been produced; how much scrap has been produced; what machines are down and why; and how much has the downtime cost. FeatureCam is Delcam's easy-to-use CAM software, designed for 2D and 3D milling, 5-axis simultaneous machining, high speed milling, turning, turn/mill, live tooling and wire EDM machining. The software's advanced feature-based and feature-rich technologies enable manufacturers to program their machine tools in the shortest possible time and, hence, significantly reduce job set-up times.
