Peter Fletcher has taken over as managing director of Halifax-based heat treatment specialist Holt Brothers, following the retirement of Vladimir Murawa, who remains as a consultant.

With a degree in Chemistry and an MBA, Mr Fletcher has extensive manufacturing, sales, marketing and management experience. His career started in process engineering and large-scale integrated manufacturing plants, in both the UK and South Africa. This led to him setting up a new chemical manufacturing company in the mid-1990s, which he took from £0 to £5 million turnover in the space of two years. Directorship of several manufacturing companies across a range of industries, including engineering and heat treatment followed, which saw Mr Fletcher involved in product introduction projects, technical services and marketing, introducing lean manufacturing and continuing business improvement. Prior to joining Holt Brothers, Mr Fletcher set up his own business support services consultancy, working both independently and as part of a network. A significant project was the improvement of European supply chain manufacturing performance for safety- and aesthetically-critical components for a world leading FMCG manufacturer at their flagship site. "I'm delighted to join Holt Brothers and to be directly involved at the heart of the engineering and manufacturing industry," said Mr Fletcher. "As a specialist in lean manufacturing, I'm a great believer in using existing information, experience and expertise to improve both products and customer services, and I look forward to enhancing the services we already provide."
