Open Mind Technologies is demonstrating its hyperMILL MAXX Machining, a CAM solution for roughing, finishing and drilling that is said to generate machining time savings of up to 90%, at Hurco in High Wycombe on 4 October.

At the event, manufacturers will have an opportunity to witness all the latest 5-axis machine tool technology from Hurco with live demonstrations on a VMX42 SRTI machining centre.

The demo day will highlight the synergy and the potential of combining 5-axis machine tools with new tooling concepts such as circle segment end-mills from Quickgrind, and of course the latest hyperMILL MAXX Machining module. This performance package offers end users three powerful modules for roughing, finishing and drilling.

In the demonstration, Open Mind will show how hyperMILL can deliver time savings of up to 75% for roughing, using trochoidal tool paths and the 5-axis helical drilling cycle, and up to 90% for finishing using innovative strategies with barrel cutters.

New concepts and strategies introduced to reduce milling time include how to use tilted milling tools to quickly and easily open pockets or drill holes in hard material without the need for a pre-drilled holes. The event will start at 9am and will run through to 2pm with comprehensive 'live' demos, a Q&A session and also the opportunity to talk to engineers from Hurco, Open Mindand Quickgrind.
