Open Mind hyperMILL Application Programming Interface delivers effective automation
Open Mind advises that its CADCAM software hyperMILL now contains an advanced Application Programming Interface (API) that allows it to be customised entirely to the needs of a company.
The company says it has consulted on projects large and small, saving customers considerable manpower and allowing their most critical employees to focus their attention on more advanced challenges in manufacturing. It offers the example of its 'Start-Up' utility (see video).
This facility allows customers to insert this procedure into hyperMILL and manage many standard operations with one keystroke, saving time and assuring programming consistency.
Functions like generating a starting stock, defining a milling area (check model), creating programming coordinate systems and common in-process frames (local coordinates), and running feature recognition technology are now automated to improve programming efficiency and let users focus on high value steps.
