Open Mind continues as PTC partner

This partnership makes Open Mind's hyperMILL software available to Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire users while they work concurrently in the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire CAD environment. There is no loss of data through translations, and associativity with the model is maintained. There are many benefits to the deep integration offered by hyperMILL in Pro/ENGINEER. First, being integrated directly in the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire CAD system allows users to work in a comfortable and powerful CAD environment, yet access the benefits of hyperMILL's CAM strategies. The overall product integration eliminates the passing of Pro/ENGINEER CAD data to the hyperMILL CAM system by a plain file and eliminates the chance to lose data quality that is common with neutral-language (IGES and STEP) translators. hyperMILL also behaves as an associative application within Pro/ENGINEER. Status flags for each machining cycle will change from 'acceptable' to 'warning' when geometry elements are changed. They return to acceptable status after re-calculation. No further changes to the machining cycles are required. And hyperMILL also provides an export link to CG Tech's Vericut application for simulation and optimisation.
