Olympus Engineering protects CMMs with Wenzel enclosure
Wenzel UK has installed the first of a new generation of CMM enclosure at Olympus Engineering, in Stoke on Trent.
The subcontractor recently installed two new Wenzel XO55 CMMs within a new shopfloor cell, but enclosed in Wenzel's new CMM enclosures.
The aim of the CMM enclosure is to protect the unit from the dirt and dust found on the shopfloor.
A positive air pressure ensures air-born particles are prevented from contacting the CMM, while internal LED lighting allows the user to keep a close watch on the measurement cycle.
The unit is manufactured from 45 by 45 mm aluminium extruded section, screwed together to form a lightweight, rigid construction, with 5 mm coloured makrilon panels. These panels can be supplied in a variety of colours.
Wenzel UK can provide fully bespoke designs.
