New functions added to Bystronic fibre laser machines to increase productivity

Bystronic's fiber laser machines are now going to be sold with CutControl and automatic nozzle change.

CutControl monitors the cutting process in real time and corrects it, while automatic nozzle exchange picks out the optimum nozzle for a job from one of 40 nozzles in a magazine. Both features originate from the company's CO2 lasers. CutControl stops the machine if an interruption in the cut is detected and it then returns the head to repeat that section of the cut. Component rejection and scrap rates are consequently reduced. Another application of CutControl is it can determine where the edge of the sheet is on the table, resulting in optimal material utilisation, particularly when long, straight cuts run close to the sides of the sheet. The automatic nozzle change (pictured) takes only 15 seconds, faster than manual exchange, meaning productivity is increased.
With a nozzle magazine fitted, a fibre laser machine can be pre-equipped for unattended cutting of orders involving sheets of varying types and thicknesses.
