Three companies across the industry have welcomed new staff.

Supplier and developer industrial filtration products and solutions Nederman UK has employed Richard McBroom as the new solutions business manager for UK and Ireland. The solutions division of Nederman is tasked with project managing solutions and installations from concept and design through to commissioning, installation and regulation compliance.

Previously employed as the Nederman solutions manager for Ireland, the new role is a promotion for Richard, who has worked for the Preston based company for more than four years.

The rapid growth in automation products sales that prompted bearings, gears and drives distributor R. A. Rodriguez to create a dedicated sister company – RARUK Automation – has now prompted the appointment of new staff. The first new addition to the team is a dedicated sales engineer for the company's robot solutions, built around the Universal Robot collaborative robot. For this range of flexible 6-axis robot the company holds the rank of preferred supplier in the UK.

Stepping into this post is Ross Lacy, whose love of technology has followed him throughout his career. He says: "I was previously involved in selling technology to blind and visually impaired people and it was great to see how it changed their lives.I'm now moving into a field where automation technology can change the way we work and make our manufacturers more competitive; it's an exciting prospect."

Based at RARUK Automation in Letchworth, Lacy is now responsible for sales of the entire Universal Robot product range - the UR3, 5 and 10 - throughout the UK.

At Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, metalworking subcontractor Thomas Brown Engineering has welcomed back former apprentice Lee Brown after a stint abroad. He was working in Texas performing subcontract precision engineering work in the oil and gas industry, machining small to medium parts using materials such as titanium and super alloys.

Now back in the UK, he is stationed in the company’s CNC turning section.

Brown says: “I am happy to be back at Thomas Brown Engineering and with the arrival of two brand new CNC machines to the turning section in the next month or so, I look forward to the challenges that lay ahead.”
