Neuteq Europe launches machine tool extended warranties

At MACH 2010, Tamworth-based Neuteq Europe launched an extended warranty program for practically any CNC controlled machine tool up to 20 years old.

Ian Warren, Neuteq's product business manager, explained: "Under the extended warranty agreement, Neuteq Europe will carry out two checks per year, as well as planned preventative maintenance. Any problems, involving any aspect of the machine, resulting from breakdown or accidental damage (but not general 'wear and tear') will be resolved by us under the terms of the agreement, negating the need to call in a specialist for the controller and/or a different specialist for mechanical repairs and, at the same time, avoiding any shock invoice that needs immediate payment." With the company's in-house CNC training and experience, it aims to achieve a far better 'first-fix' rate than other less qualified engineers and if a customer's machine is not up and running within 48 hours, the customer can claim for loan machine time to complete urgent production runs. Following a free survey of any CNC controlled machine or group of machines, Neuteq will quote a fixed price for an extended underwritten warranty. As an example, a four-year-old machine currently valued at £150,000 could be covered for about £50 per month, with a maximum single claim of up to £30,000. Neuteq Europe has also recently introduced a specialist CNC Support Centre to offer Fanuc retrofits for any existing make of control, as well as retrofit commissioning and after sales support. The centre also provides programming training for Fanuc-controlled machine tools.
