Mori Seiki's three-turret mill-turn gets JIMTOF preview

Mori Seiki's NZ2000 T3Y3 multi-axis machine with three turrets for mass production machining will be on view at JIMTOF2006 (Japan, 1-8 November) as a pre-release display machine.

The NZ Series is the world's first multi-axis machine to be equipped with three turrets with built-in milling motors and the y-axis function. It will support high-efficiency machining for mass production of bar material, flanges and shafts, and for mass production of precision parts in various fields such as the automobile parts, electric equipment, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment industries, etc. The NZ Series has 10 variations across two models - the NZ1500 with a 6-inch chuck and the NZ2000 with a 8-inch chuck are the two models - with customers choosing from two turrets with no y-axis function to three turrets all with the y-axis function. Each turret can hold 16 tools, so up to 48 can be set-up on the three-turret models.
