Mori Seiki offers smooth capability as standard

Starting this month, Mori Seiki is installing its SVC Function (Smooth Velocity Control Function) as standard for simultaneous 5-axis machining NMV, NMH and NT Series machines.

SVC achieves smooth feed via automatic compensation by ‘looking ahead’ in the CNC program. It both reduces cycle time and improves surface quality. Basically, the feature solves the issue of the speed differences that normally occur between program blocks. The SVC function enables the user to select machining conditions from one of four levels – from speed-oriented to accuracy-oriented, and also limits the compensation angle, depending on the shape, in order to avoid interference between tools and workpieces.
