Mollart Engineering has appointed Ian Petitt as managing director.

In his new role, he has set a 10 year target to progressively build the business from a £17 million operation to a £30 million turnover international company with enhanced return on investment to support its machine tool sales, tooling and sub-contract manufacturing operations.

Petitt has been employed by Mollart for some 22 years, of which 18 have been served in the role of sales director, which has returned highly successful worldwide sales for its machine tool operations.

Orders have been frequently won against very competitive international deep hole drilling companies to supply machines to the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China, India, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe.

Says Petitt: “Mollart is an international UK business with a very strong and experienced team in deep hole drilling technology that has led to well over 95% of the 1,000 machines built being exported. In running the business, I will draw further on our international reputation and experience to continue to enhance our success in the customisation of our standard machine build portfolio and special application development which often involves automation and bespoke solutions for customers.”
