Mitutoyo will showcase a brand new hardness tester at a material science seminar on Wednesday 23 October 2013, at the company's state-of-the-art showroom in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
The seminar, which is being organised by Spectrographic Ltd, a specialist supplier of metallographic equipment and consumables.
Material scientists from across the UK and Europe are among those invited to attend the seminar, where they will have the opportunity to see a demonstration of Mitutoyo's newly developed Micro Vickers Hardness Tester, a fully automatic hardness testing machine from the company's HM-200 Series.
Mitutoyo's new HM-200 Series of hardness testers is equipped with the latest optical system, which offers an extended magnification range, designed for test pattern set-up using image montage. The series' load cell technology allows complete control of test parameters.
The fully automated Micro Vickers Hardness Tester system D, the model being demonstrated at the seminar in October, has been developed to incorporate a range of new functions, including stitching, auto trace, contour detection, and pattern creation. The new software interface, AVPAK-20, helps the user to increase productivity, provides greater accuracy and reduces the 'uncertainty of measurement'.
"We are delighted to be working with Spectrographic to promote this exciting new product," says David Thomson, managing director at Mitutoyo (UK): "It will be a unique opportunity for our colleagues and business associates to see Mitutoyo's Micro Vickers Hardness Tester in action, and to speak directly to one of Spectrographic's product specialists."
It is the first in a series of seminars that are currently being organised by Spectrographic at Mitutoyo's showrooms across the UK. Each seminar will showcase a new and innovative product for material science, and will explore different testing applications. The one-day events are free to attend and, as well as a being learning experiences, delegates will be able to seek advice from a product specialist, as well as network with like-minded industry professionals.
Paul Chippendale, managing director of Spectrographic, says: "We have worked with Mitutoyo for over 10 years now, and we are delighted to have formed a partnership with them to run these seminars.
