Mitsubishi/Amada collaboration

Amada and Mitsubishi Electric have announced that they will collaborate in the laser cutting arena. Amada currently uses Fanuc lasers in its machine tools, while Mitsubishi uses its own lasers in its own profiling equipment, producing laser sources from 2 to 4 kW.

Mitsubishi has a patented ‘3-Axis cross-flow’ resonator which use a rectangular wave, high-peak pulse to deliver a sharper beam and more cutting power for a cleaner cut. Fanuc makes CO2 lasers from 1 kW to 6 kW (7 kW peak) power output. Both Amada and Mitsubishi will continue selling products under their own brands.
