Mills CNC, through its Automation Division, will be showcasing its latest collaborative robot (cobot) technology on Stand B160 at Southern Manufacturing 2020 (Farnborough, 11-13 February).

Two cobots are being exhibited at the event. The first, the M0617, is largest cobot in the Doosan range in terms of reach radius (1.7 m) and, at the show, will be performing a range of tasks that demonstrate its flexibility and broad application potential. The second cobot at Southern Manufacturing features integrated vision technology that enables it to identify and sort parts by size, shape, orientation or text pattern.

Says Peter McCullough, product manager - Doosan robotics: “Doosan cobots are designed to perform a range of tasks that include CNC machine tending, testing and inspection, through to packaging, palletising, assembly, and pick and place operations. The two cobots we are taking to Southern Manufacturing will demonstrate the productivity and operational efficiency benefits that can be achieved through investing in the latest automation technology.”

Doosan cobots are said to be characterised by their build quality, safety, versatility and ease of use. The cobots are equipped with 6-axis articulated arms featuring sensitive torque sensors which detect any change in force or pressure, causing them to stop.

There are four different cobots in the range. Each has a different payload capacity and reach radius, and each is supplied with a controller and pendant. All cobots can be specified with different end-of-arm tooling systems and solutions.
