Mills breaks the 300-machine barrier with time to spare

Mills Manufacturing Technology reports it has broken the 300 machine tool sales barrier again.

Sales of Doosan CNC machine tools in the UK have surpassed expectations and, for the third consecutive year have topped 300 units - £30 million. “Sales performance in 2008 has been tremendous. To have hit the 300 mark with a good two months to spare demonstrates the continuing high demand for Doosan machine tool technology in the UK, and provides ample evidence that Mills is well on track for another record year,” said David Andrew, sales and marketing director. As well as maintaining strong growth in its lathes and turning centre business where Doosan has always been traditionally strong, Mills has reported significant growth in, and demand for its milling machine tools; especially its high-performance, large capacity horizontal and vertical machining centres. “From 2-axis lathes right through to multi-axis mill-turn centres – Doosan CNC machine tools are the number one choice for precision manufacturers,” Mr Andrew underlined. “With a number of new machine tools we will be introducing into the UK during 2009 – I am confident that we will be able to build still further on our market-leading position.”
