1 min read

Cutting tool manufacturer Mikron Tool has constructed a new 1000 square metre two-storey production hall in Agno, Switzerland, which brings production area to a total of 3500 square metres.

And on 19/10/2022 it was ready. The new COO Elio Lupica of Mikron Switzerland AG, Division Tool, inaugurated the new production facilities in the presence of the local authorities and representatives of the umbrella organizations AITI and Swissmem.

The investments made signify further growth of the Ticino production site and allows Mikron Tool to add additional production capacity. Good news for the region, because this means new jobs.

But that's not all: during construction, Mikron Tool replaced the old oil heating system with a state-of-the-art mixing plant for heat recovery from production. Mikron Tool ceased using fossil fuels in December 2021.

The outdated refrigeration system was also completely replaced. Thanks to this upgrade, 350,000 kWh of electricity will be saved annually. This is in line with Mikron Tool's commitment to environmentally friendly resource consumption.

The expansion of production facilities also provides advantages to customers. They will benefit from shorter delivery times thanks to increased capacity.
