Hemel Hempstead-based Micro-Precision Gear technology has signed up to the 21st Century Supply Chains (SC21) programme, developed by ADS, the UK aerospace, defence and security industries association.

SC21 is a comprehensive business improvement programme for companies in the aerospace and defence supply chains. It combines lean manufacturing excellence techniques with world-class approaches to management, quality and customer relationships across the supply chain. "SC21 has become the performance improvement standard that our aerospace customers increasingly expect," explains Micro-Precision managing director Terry Grubb. "Our participation in the program is a great way to demonstrate Micro Precision's commitment to world class manufacturing and supply chain performance, and to help us achieve even higher performance in the coming years. SC21 is a truly meaningful award, since the assessment includes both real quality and delivery performance over the previous 12 months, and our plans for sustainable continuous improvement." Micro-Precision was founded in 1978 by Terry Grubb, It is an ISO 9001-2000/AS 9100-accredited manufacturer, providing specialised precision components to the civil, military, aerospace, medical, and motorsport industries.
