Mazak took 19 machines and eleven automation systems to EMO 2023, including new entry-level vertical machining centers, 5-axis and Multi-Tasking machines, laser processing, specialist gear cutting machines and a new hybrid friction stir welding solution.
The Mazak stand recorded a similar number of visitors to 2019 with a high number of prospect leads recorded. The EMO organisers have since confirmed the number of visitors this year was recorded at 92,000, which confirms that the Mazak brand has maintained a strong position in the minds of visitors.
Mazak’s strategy for EMO 2023 was to offer innovative, affordable solutions to the challenges faced by manufacturers across Europe, with new technologies, plug and play automation systems, best-in-class Multi-Tasking solutions with the INTEGREX range and digital products, such as the new MAZATROL DX software.
Alan Mucklow, managing director UK, Eire and National Distributors at Yamazaki Mazak, said EMO 2023 proved that European manufacturers are still willing to invest in new technology. “It was a highly successful show with our stand visitors holding up very well despite lower overall visitor numbers. We gave European machine users what they wanted, namely practical solutions to the manufacturing challenges they face every day, specifically maintaining productivity and profitability in the face of rising energy prices and continuing lack of skills.
“As a result, we exceeded our targets and generated a very high number of prospects during the week which we believe is indicative of a superior quality of lead with serious intent to invest in new technologies.”
During the week, Mazak recorded strong enquiries for its flagship range of INTEGREX models, as well as its CV5-500 5-axis machining center and the newly expanded VCN and VCE ranges, which now includes the VCN-700 with large capacity tool magazine, the VCN-600 with a large 700 mm Y-axis and the new VCE-500.
Mucklow added: “The UK-built CV5-500 and our entry-level machining centers that are manufactured in our Worcester facility, have proved to be very popular with European machine users looking to invest in high quality machines at very affordable prices.
"Our three INTEGREX models on display also attracted strong interest from manufacturers specializing in high-complexity Multi-Tasking machining. Ultimately, EMO 2023 was a great showcase for our technologies and we are delighted with the results.”
