Master Abrasives current managing director, Andy Miller (picture, right), will relinquish this role at the end of the year and take up the position of chairman of the board; sales and marketing director Paul Batson steps to take the vacated position.

Mr Miller explained: "Since the management buyout from the Meister Group at the end of 2012, the shareholders have been giving careful consideration to the strategic direction and focus of the company. Bearing that in mind, and my technical directorship, we feel my time would now be best spent considering this together with a focus on future products and processes." Mr Batson added: "I am looking forward to facing the challenges of running Master Abrasives, providing the optimum precision abrasives, surface finishing and tooling services to our customers in all industry sectors. Having worked with Andy Miller in a technical and commercial framework for over 20 years, his confidence in my ability to take the company forward means a lot to me." In conclusion, Mr Miller said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank both our customers and suppliers for their support in the past, and for future support of Paul and Master Abrasives in the years to come. I am confident this is a good move for the future of the business, and I look forward to it with the same enthusiasm I have given to running the company for the past 23 years."
