Massive order growth for Mikron Group

The Mikron Group, Switzerland headquartered specialist in the production of machining and assembly systems, posted an order intake of CHF 312.5 million (£144 million) in the 2007 financial year and recorded net sales of CHF 265.3 million (£122 million).

Both figures were up on the previous year, with the order intake up 36.6 per cent and net sales up 8.5. The Group includes Mikron Machining Technology taking in Mikron SA, Agno, a manufacture of specialist rotary and linear transfer machinery, and cutting tools maker via Mikron Tool SA, Agno (Floyd Automatic Tooling). Order intake for the Machining Technology Division was up by more then 24 per cent at CHF159.7 million (£73 million), while sales were up by over 9 per cent at CHF137.1 million (£63 million). Order backlog grew by almost 70 per cent to CHF123 million (£57 million). Orders for the Machining Technology Division have been driven by the automotive industry, specifically the constant further development of fuel injection systems.
