Walsall, West Midlands-based company Majorfax has won a significant rail parts order from SKF France for over 3,500 rail parts that are destined for trains in China.

Although the company has previously supplied SKF in Luton, this contract for its sister company, SKF France, represents a first for Majorfax. The company is supplying three parts for the 'sensor pack' of the rail braking system for trains in China. Explains Leigh Dale, production manager: "The contract is for parts including a rear cover, an intermediate housing part on top of which a lid fits and finally the sensor pack fits inside of this sub assembly. The parts are then shipped China to be fully assembled out there." The new contract will run for approximately 12 months. Added Mr Dale: "Our expertise and experience led to us winning the contract. The specific knowledge we have of these complex parts placed us in a much stronger position than any other competitors. Majorfax will now strive to provide the very best in what we are skilled in." Similar contracts for braking parts in China could be a possibility in the future for Majorfax.
