Sheffield-based MachineWorks Ltd, a leading provider of CNC simulation and verification component software, has expanded its technical team.
This sees a new developer, who will be involved in the design and implementation of algorithms for geometric modelling and computer graphics, and a new support team member, who will maintain the quality and stability of the code and improve further testing processes.
The MachineWorks development team is based in Sheffield. It includes both the original developers who wrote the first version of MachineWorks almost 20 years ago and an increasing stream of developers that has been broadening the team ever since.
The team works together under the same roof, "bouncing ideas off each other and pushing the boundaries of the code" and, says the company, MachineWorks' cutting-edge technology is continuously being developed to improve performance, stability and accuracy.
The support team takes care of MachineWorks' customers by holding regular meetings, both face-to-face and virtually, to ensure that all their needs are fulfilled.
David Manley, managing director at MachineWorks, explains: "We are delighted to grow our technical team and welcome the newcomers as part of the Sheffield team. As we expand the business into new markets such as robotics, metalforming, medical and 3D printing, it is essential that we have the right people in place to meet the needs of current and future customers."
MachineWorks Software is claimed to set the standard for CNC simulation and verification component software in the industry. More than 60% of CAM developers in the world have integrated MachineWorks technology into their applications.
MachineWorks' toolkit has been integrated by software and hardware OEMs to support simulation of material removal, and clash and gouge detection for any type of CNC machine.
