The MACH 2018 exhibition has picked up a top award at the Trade Association Forum (TAF) Best Practice Awards, with the biennial exhibition bagging top prize in the Exhibition of the Year category.

Now in its sixteenth year, the TAF Best Practice Awards recognise, rewards and promotes best practice amongst Trade Associations in the UK. The annual event is supported by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday, 10 July 2018 at Draper’s Hall in London, with hundreds of guests from the UK’s premier trade associations. James Selka, CEO of the Manufacturing Technologies Association, which organise MACH, said: “This award is testament to all the hard work put in by the staff at the MTA and the members of our Exhibition Committee, but we would not be able to run such a longstanding and successful show if it wasn’t for our exhibitors.”

“With a new look for MACH 2018, we were determined to showcase UK manufacturing and advanced engineering sectors to the highest possible standard, that is why the exhibition is recognised as the market leader in the UK.”

In the event program publication, TAF said of MACH 2018: “The show, which is arguably a National Treasure, is clearly a huge success in every possible way.”

MACH 2018 delivered for its exhibitors, with a 5% increase of trade visitors to the show. In the post-show questionnaire of exhibitors, 95% respondents said that they had generated leads for their sales team to follow-up post show. And 77% of exhibitors reported improved customer relations over the course of the show. In addition, 80% of exhibitors raised their company profile by attending the exhibition.

With the award-winning MACH 2018 over, preparations for MACH 2020 are already well underway with over 5,000 m² of space allocated to eager exhibitions. Space may already be on general sale, but some prime areas in the halls are available through a ballot system and these are set to start to fill up over the coming months.

Applications for Ballot 1 are opening at the end of July - Ballot 1 is for stands of above 200 m² - and applications close on 5 September. The draw will take place on 7 September. Ballot 2 is for stands below 199 m² and will open in September, with the draw taking place by the end of October 2018.
