The MACH 2016 exhibition held in Birmingham last week drew 25,627, representing a 10% increase on the figure for 2014, reports show organiser the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA).

James Selka, CEO of the MTA, says: “We are in buoyant mood after the show. There was a real buzz around the Halls during MACH, and all the effort our exhibitors put in to making the show the spectacular showcase it was have been worthwhile. It was fantastic to see so many people passing through the NEC, many visiting more than once, creating a real celebration of the UK’s advanced manufacturing technologies sectors.”

James Fudge, head of events, said: “10% growth on 2014 is real testament to all the hard work everyone involved in MACH put in and a great reflection of the UK advanced manufacturing and engineering industry. We’re so pleased that so many exhibitors have already reserved their stands for the 2018 edition of the exhibition and we’ll continue to innovate to ensure that MACH retains its position as the UK’s premier manufacturing showcase.”

The next edition of the MACH show will be in 2018, with the exhibition seeing a move to Halls 17,18,19,20 and 6 from its long-term home of NEC Halls 4 and 5.

Says the MTA: “We will be able to stage the exhibition in a way that provides a bigger range of great locations for exhibitors’ stands. The Hall move also means we will have additional space to be able to grow the exhibition incrementally in the years to come.

“The new ‘home’ for MACH will have more visitor entrances, closer parking for both exhibitors and visitors, and, more catering options. The different shape means that no stand will be further from an entrance than the middle of Hall 5 in the current layout.”
