MACH 2014 - Four new grinders from Jones & Shipman

1 min read

J&S has plenty of new technology in its latest range of grinding machines, which will be on show on Stand 5368, Hall 5 at MACH 2014 (7-11 April, Birmingham NEC).

The most notable is the Suprema 1000M, which is a cylindrical grinder with a colour touch-screen, Fanuc Power Motion i-A and J&S's own 'Easy' software. The firm says the ongoing demand from companies looking for more geometric accuracy with quick changeovers on cylindrical grinding machines was a key factor in the Suprema's design. It's available in three grinding lengths (650 mm, 1000 mm and 1500 mm) and each has automatic dressing and grinding cycles which means they can be quickly set, then left unmanned. Also at the show is the UltraMat 1000 CNC – a Tee Bed' design that J&S says "satisfies a response from manufacturers for a high accuracy production cylindrical grinding machine". The firm's 524 EASY surface and profile grinder has also been extensively upgraded and now features a Fanuc Power Motion i-A control. At start-up it offers the operator three simple options: Manual, Dress or Grind cycle modes. Finally the Kellenberger KEL-VISTA UR 175/1000 will be featured. Recognised as 'a good all-rounder' it is a cost effective CNC alternative to hydraulically controlled cylindrical grinders. The ergonomic design with a low machine platform ensure easy manual loading and unloading which also contributes to rapid change over times thanks to a travel stick and hand wheel.
