MACH 2014 - Croft Filters to underline additive manufacturing potential and application

1 min read

Filter manufacturer Croft Filters will showcase its innovative use of additive manufacturing (AM) at MACH 2014 (7-11 April, Birmingham NEC) on Stand 4667, Hall 4.

The Warrington-based company says it is the first UK manufacturer to produce filters using AM and, in 2013, launched Croft Additive Manufacturing (CAM), a unit dedicated to developing the technology for use across multiple industries. Croft's design engineers on hand to offer an insight into AM, also known as 3D printing, and advise visitors on the cutting edge technology's design potential. As well as showcasing a range of filters and components that have been manufactured using AM technology, Croft's team will be exhibiting a selection of filter products that have been made using subtractive manufacturing techniques, alongside an example of a self-cleaning filter. Louise Geekie, project manager at Croft, will be speaking at MACH's 3D printing seminar on Tuesday 8 April, where she will discuss the product design innovation that AM offers, together with Croft's application of the technology to create bespoke filtration solutions. Neil Burns, director at Croft Filters and CAM, adds: "We're currently collaborating with Lancaster University on an AM research project, and our team will be drawing on this knowledge to offer visitors a view of how this advanced technology can move complex designs into production."
