Last call for input to national growth strategy for laser-based production processing

The Association of Industrial Laser Users (AILU) is calling for more input to the development of a ‘laser-based production processing’ (LbPP) growth strategy for UK manufacturing, with deadline for comment just two days away on 3 March.

The strength of UK photonics research in areas underpinning laser applications in manufacturing suggests that UK-industry should be among global leaders in exploiting laser-based production processes (LbPP).

In order to understand more about these issues and to investigate the potential for growth in the scale of exploitation of LbPP in UK industry, the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Laser-Based Production Processes (CIM-Laser) and AILU are supporting the development of a UK strategy aimed at these goals. The Project is being overseen by the National Strategy Organisational Team, with the strategy being developed in several stages.
