Laser specialist grows and expands

Rugby-based MSS provides independent machine servicing and also sells reconditioned laser cutting machinery sourced from the UK and Europe. The company now has over 50 machines supported under service contracts, making it the UK’s leading independent laser service provider, it claims. As well as machinery sales and service, MSS works in partnership with its customers to make investment affordable. “Some of our customers have rented laser machines and nitrogen generators to overcome peaks in demand,” says managing director Carlos Gonzalez-Lee. “This option gives them extra capacity at low risk with the option to buy once the requirements have become stable.” The company has introduced the first UK demonstration facility for nitrogen generation equipment for laser cutting machinery. Its nitrogen generators provide a continuous flow of high purity nitrogen from compressed air, which makes a significant saving in the cost of gas and ensures continuity of supply. To match the growth, MSS has already purchased its own 8,000 ft2 factory and has doubled in size by expanding into a neighbouring facility.
