Laser profiler automation offered by MBA Engineering, following Remmert GMBH partnership

Fully automated solutions for UK laser profiling installations will result from a partnership between Yorkshire-based firm MBA Engineering and Germany's Remmert GmbH.

Remmert develops individual flexible automation solutions, with an example being that at German firm 2Cut. Here, the Remmert storage system feeds sheet metal blanks to the two Trumpf TruLaser series 5030 laser machines and a TruMatic TC 7000 combined punch-laser forming machine for fully automatic processing. There is a continuous supply of material and has significantly improved the machine running times. By using the new sheet metal cell, 2Cut has saved around 60% of the time required for material handling, has reduced storage space required by 60% and reduced machine idle time by at least 40%.

MBA Engineering was set up originally to service and maintain Bystronic CO2 machines, then in early 2016 it partnered with Kimla to bring that company’s fibre lasers to the UK. These machines are said to be “not only one of the fastest on the market, but also one of the most reliable”. This latest move sees the company able to offer a solution for companies looking to reduce downtime.
