KMF (Precision Sheet Metal) is continuing its expansion into central Europe, with the strengthening of its business development team working from its Slovakian manufacturing facility.

The Newcastle under Lyme manufacturer of precision sheet metal components and assemblies opened its European manufacturing centre in 2011 to support a growing list of customers in the heart of Europe. To further build on this customer base, Pavel Vajda has been appointed to its business development team. Pavel's experience extends to sales, customer service, warehousing and logistics, and he also benefits from extensive experience in developing customer relationships and key account management. Explains Gareth Higgins, managing director, KMF (Precision Sheet Metal): "We have been very encouraged by the growth in new business that is being won by our Slovakian facility, particularly from new customers in eastern and central Europe. The time is now right to push on with this growth and Pavel will provide that local knowledge that we need to take KMF's european business to the next level," Important to KMF is the consistency of management and manufacturing procedures between its headquarters and main manufacturing facility and the facility in Trencianske Stankovce. To achieve this, employees from Slovakia undergo advanced training at KMF's Newcastle under Lyme factory, where they can develop the skills and knowledge that are not available in Slovakia. "This consistency between manufacturing sites is important to us, as we produce components for customers here in the UK who also have demand across Europe. Maintaining the quality of parts produced that stand up to strict comparison and which are manufactured using the same processes and techniques is a vital advantage that we want to maintain."
