Industrial Tooling Corporation now offers both its own ITC app and Widia's new Machining Central app

Having generated huge interest in its own new cutting tool app, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC is now introducing its clients to the new and complementary app from Widia.

The app allows users to quickly access machining speeds and feed data for Widia tooling, without interrupting production. The newly released ‘Machining Central’ app scans the Widia product barcode or searches the corresponding order number of the tool or an ANSI or ISO catalogue number to automatically generate product information, along with speeds and feeds, in seconds.

Designed for machinists and engineers alike, the new Widia Machining Central app also addresses specific machining needs that recommended speeds and feeds may not quite address. For example, it features three calculators based upon NOVO, the Widia-developed programming software - the calculators include end milling and face milling parameter calculators. The app provides scan, search and calculate functions, all in the palm of a user’s hand – providing a simple and quick solution without interrupting productivity.

Commenting upon the new Widia and ITC apps, ITC managing director Peter Graves says: “With the pandemic, localised lockdowns and safety restrictions impeding our ability to conduct as many ‘on-site’ assessments and face-to-face meetings, our ability to sustain our exceptional levels of support has to be complemented by Industry 4.0 technology and digital solutions in the interim. With a generation of engineers that are now familiar with accessing information from their mobile devices, the new apps can only be a positive solution in our efforts to further enhance the customer experience.”

Like the ITC app, the new Machining Central app from Widia can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
