Objet Geometries, a designer and manufacturer of ultra-thin-layer, 0.016 mm, high resolution 3D printing systems, has named UK agent, HK Technologies of Rugby, as its "European Distributor of the Year for Outstanding Performance 2009".

Objet Geometries was established in 2000, and HK Technologies has been an official distributor since 2001, the longest standing such arrangement, in the UK. "Ever since we started supporting Objet, our 3D printer business has been growing. We now have a significant number of installations in the UK and we continue to expand our activities in this rapidly growing and exciting technology area," says Nigel Bunt, HK's managing director. In support of HK's efforts, Objet Geometries has itself introduced a strategy that better aligns the company with Europe. For instance, last year the company opened a European headquarters in Germany, which means there are now dedicated Objet personnel located in Europe, rather than Israel, home of the parent company. Objet's range of 3D solutions include the Eden line of professional 3D printers and the Alaris family of desktop 3D printing systems, both of which are based on Objet's patented PolyJet technology. Top of the range is the Connex family, based on PolyJet Matrix technology, which jets multiple model materials simultaneously to create composite digital materials on the fly. Already a host of industries are benefiting from Objet 3D printing technology, from automotive, consumer goods, toy and electronics, through to medical, education, sports, jewellery and architecture.
