Measurement specialist Hexagon Metrology UK has attained the Investors in People Gold standard after a thorough appraisal of its management systems by a team of independent auditors.
Hexagon, which has offices in Telford, Chester and Milton Keynes, chose to be assessed for the highest honour, as it had been an accredited IIP organization since 2002. The Gold standard is achieved by only the top 2% of British businesses.
"I believe it's very important to allow ourselves to be audited across a wide range of areas, so that we can use the good and challenging feedback to build strategies for continuous improvement," said general manager David Brown.
"It was a pleasant surprise to learn that we had satisfied the criteria and reached the elite standard. Highly motivated people with great attitude are critical to the success of a business," he added.
Hexagon had to meet more than 100 evidence requirements, which were gathered by assessors who interviewed and observed staff during the in-depth audit process.
The company employs 88 people in the UK and has an annual turnover approaching £20 million.
