Hexagon Metrology offers amnesty for lapsed software customers

Hexagon Metrology UK is highlighting the importance of regularly renewing measurement software licences to avoid incurring extra costs.

The measurement solutions provider says some users are missing out on features and functions that are continually being refined.

If users have failed to renew their licenses, then updating to the latest version usually also requires them to pay for previous releases in line with similar rules for other industrial application software, explained Sam O'Prey, aftermarket sales manager.

"Non-renewal for several years not only means users lose the benefits of being able to get the best out of measurement equipment by using the most up-to-date version of a program's tools and technologies, but also software updating can become very onerous," he added.

Hexagon Metrology UK has unveiled a campaign aimed at its PC-DMIS measurement software license holders who have not followed a regular renewal schedule in recent years. They can now receive the latest version without any back license fees in return for signing up to a three-year software maintenance agreement.

As well as receiving all PC-DMIS updates released during the contract period, users can benefit from other Hexagon Metrology UK services such as unlimited telephone/email application support, Team Viewer remote access to user PC, free training events and webinars.

Hexagon Metrology's latest version of its popular PC-DMIS software features enhancements for laser scanning and optical measurement systems thanks to improved tools for point cloud inspection and reverse engineering tasks.
