Ross Matthews has joined the Haas Automation sales team and is now responsible for the East Midlands.

Nick Remington, Haas' managing director, said: "We're delighted that Ross decided to steer his career path toward sales. He's a very quick learner and is ideally suited to the job. Ross has been with the company for 10 years and is already known and highly regarded by many of our customers in his area. "He started in the industry operating Haas machines at a local company before joining our organisation. He quickly progressed from the shopfloor to become a service engineer and then, latterly, has been responsible for onsite and classroom training of customers to use a variety of Haas products. "Ross has built a wealth of skills that will definitely set him in good stead for his future career in sales and I am confident that this will be reflected in the positive feedback we already receive from our customers." The managing director continued: "Haas is about providing the highest possible level of service and, to this end, having people who have progressed through the business ensures customers receive the best available advice when choosing which particular model and specification to buy. "Ross joins an ever expanding, award-winning team, bringing the Haas UK sales force to 15. Our enquiry levels and continued growth mean I will be announcing further expansion this year, of that I have no doubt. At this stage, I will not commit to a number, but more service and applications engineers and, possibly, more sales people will be required. The reputation Haas is building ensures that we receive a continuous flow of applicants without the need to advertise."
