GibbsCAM delivers 1,500th post-processor

Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM software for programming CNC machines has delivered its 1,500th post processor for GibbsCAM, in support of a growing variety of Multi-Task Machines (MTMs) from 75 manufacturers.

Each of the 1,500 post processors is developed and configured for a specific combination of MTM machine, machine options, machine control and shop-process preference. This milestone represents continuing adoption of MTMs for the productivity the machines can provide, and increased utilization of GibbsCAM to program the machines.

Multi-tasking machines require a CAM system capable of programming the complex combination of milling and turning within a restricted work envelope while synchronizing multiple tool groups and spindles to machine, transfer and release parts. This complexity, and the need to optimize programs for minimal production time and cost, drives MTM users to GibbsCAM for programming and optimization, for simulation of machines of any configuration, and for post-processing to generate CNC code optimized for machine efficiency and shop-process preferences.

GibbsCAM 2015 incorporates a new engine, the Universal Kinematic Machine (UKM).
