German machine tool giant grows and grows

German machine tool builder Gildemeister AG has posted further growth in order intake, sales revenues and results, for the third quarter ending September 30, 2007.

The company’s order intake rose to €1,403.7 million, up 33 per cent year-on-year. Sales revenues increased to €1,074.9 million, up 16 per cent year-on-year. Annual profit amounted to €27.2 million, €11.1 million in the previous year. The considerable increase in order intake in the third quarter resulted from a successful EMO, where Gildemeister achieved the highest order intake from a trade fair so far in the company's history with 526 machines sold at a value of €162.6 million. For the fourth quarter, the company is planning sales revenues to develop above the previous year's level at €404.8 million, to more than €1.5 billion. For the financial year 2008, sales revenues are expected to be more than €1.6 billion.
