Free interactive safety workshops from Laidler Associates

1 min read

Laidler Associates, a specialist in machinery safety, is running a series of short machinery safety seminars that are free for delegates to attend.

Practical solutions are the main focus of the day and so a virtual reality environment is used to represent as accurately as possible a genuine production environment. Throughout the day delegates will be able to assess common hazards and correct them, taking the environment from unsafe to safe. The workshops will be of particular interest to mechanical or electrical engineers involved in specification, design, maintenance or modification of machinery; managers responsible for production, maintenance or design of factor equipment; or anyone else connected with specifying and purchasing machinery. The workshops provide an opportunity to ensure knowledge of machinery safety is accurate and up-to-date, thereby minimising the risk of non-compliance, which could put workers at risk and lead to prosecution. Workshops are held at locations around the UK, they specifically cover requirements relating to CE marking and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER). Topics discussed during the day include: current and forthcoming legislation; EN standards and their effect on industry; risk assessment and its implications; and safety control systems. In addition to the formal programme, the workshops include a question-and-answer session where those attending can seek expert advice and guidance on their own specific problems in relation to machinery safety. The Laidler Associates Machinery Safety Workshops are one-day events, with refreshments and lunch provided. The dates and locations for the events are: • Bolton, Ramada Hotel, 1 March 2011 • Newbury, Ramada Elcott Park, 5 April 2011 • Solihull, Ramada Hotel, 3 May 2011 • Fareham, TÜV SÜD Product Service, 7 June 2011 • Bolton, Ramada Hotel, 2 August 2011 • Newbury, Ramada Elcott Park, 6 September 2011 • Solihull, Ramada Hotel, 1 October 2011 • Fareham, TÜV SÜD Product Service, 1 November 2011 All courses can be booked at the link below.
