Floyd Automatic shows tooling for sliding head lathes at MACH (stand 5036)

The new Applitec FLO-Tool backworking tools for sliding head turning machines are being presented.

Ideally suited to machining parts in the sub-spindle of small turning centres, the new FLO-Tool offers a host of application possibilities for producing parts on sliding head turning centres such as Tornos, Citizen and Star machines.

The key benefit of the range is the centre height adjustment facility. They also come with a wide selection of toolholders: in additional to the standard line of ISO insert holders, the FLO-Tool system has toolholders available for 16ER threading inserts, collet adaptors, boring tools and also insert holders accepting the range of Applitec inserts. The serrated insert pocket corresponds with the ridged insert to improve insert location, clamping rigidity and overall performance.

The latest addition uses the twin screw Applitec 760/750 and 740/730 inserts from the TOP-Line range, whilst a single-screw version from the ECO-Line programme is also available. The Applitec insert range offers a comprehensive variation of cutting geometries and grades that now include the latest laser generated 764ZXB range.

A choice of insert grades and geometries is available to suit different applications.
