First JUMBO Lasertube for UK

The first BLM ADIGE JUMBO Lasertube will soon be installed in the UK, able to process tube up to 500 mm diameter by 18.5 m.

The £1.25 million tube processing machine will be delivered in 12 container lorries to Tubes (UK) Ltd’s site at Warley in the West Midlands. This will be the fourth JUMBO Lasertube to be installed world-wide and the first to be installed in the UK. “This represents a significant investment by Tubes (UK) and one that epitomises its willingness to invest in new tube processing technology to keep pace with customer requirements,” said Paul Lake, managing director of Ampthill-based BLM GROUP UK. With the capacity to stock more than 5000 tonnes of hot and cold formed hollow section material, ISO 9001:2000-accredited Tubes (UK) is a leading supplier to the construction industry, railways and shipyards. It also supplies round, square and rectangular hollow sections to manufacturers of heavy-duty trucks, earthmoving equipment, agricultural machinery and machine tools.
