Coolant filter manufacturer Filtermist International has acquired Filtertech to further bolster its service offering to UK customers.

As well as manufacturing a range of oil mist filtration units at its purpose-built premises in Telford, Filtermist also provides after-sales service, an operation that is now enlarged with the new deal.

Filtermist managing director, James Stansfield, comments, “Filtermist is unique in the UK oil mist extraction market in that we offer a full turnkey package. In addition to manufacturing and marketing our products, we also provide a comprehensive specification, installation and commissioning service, as well as preventative maintenance packages and ancillary services, including air monitoring and LEV testing.”

Installing and servicing Filtermist oil mist filters and other extraction equipment is the core business of Filtertech, founded by former Filtermist employee Mike Allport.

“Filtertech has carved a niche for itself in offering many of the same services as Filtermist, but as well as Filtermist units it also supplies, installs and services other makes and models of equipment designed to remove airborne hazards from industrial workplaces,” continues Stansfield. “Combining Filtermist’s resources with Filtertech’s expertise will offer all of our customers a number of benefits and will help us to meet the ambitious targets we have set for the business.”

Mike Allport and Filtertech engineer, Tom Fish, will join Filtermist’s Install and Service department to ensure a seamless transition for Filtertech customers.

Filtermist’s skilled engineers cover the whole of the UK and use the latest digital technologies. Reports are emailed directly to the customer as soon as a job is completed, minimising paperwork and making it easy to prove compliance with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) legislation if required.

As the UK distributor for sister company Absolent AB, Filtermist provides accredited service and maintenance for all Absolent extraction units. The Filtertech Ltd acquisition means this service offering now also extends to all makes of extraction equipment including Losma, Smog Hog, Nederman and Cleanmist.
