Faster wire EDMs from Sodi-Tech

1 min read

Sodi-Tech EDM is set to show four new wire EDMs at MACH.

Two are entry level machines - the SL400Q, SL600Q and two are premium machines - the SLC400G and SLC600G. The SL in the machines' names stands for Smart Linear and this acronym describes the advancements in the controlling technology that drives them. The big news is that these EDMs can increase machining speed by up to 30%, as well as halving average energy consumption compared with conventional EDMs. This increase in machining speed has been achieved because Sodi-Tech has developed a 'Smart Pulse' generator that reduces the number of cuts necessary to achieve the desired accuracy and surface finish. The four machines also have a much faster automatic wire-threader, called the FJ-AWT. There's also a new tension servo function and a new automatic liquid level control. The end result is high speed, high-precision machining and the highest quality surface processing. The exterior of the new machines have more compact look than previous EDMs from the company. They are now fully-enclosed and have improved access and a better view of the operation. Visit them in Hall 5 on Stand 5274.
