Extrude Hone establishes ECM centre of excellence in Germany

Extrude Hone GmbH, Remscheid, Germany is to set up an ECM centre of excellence at Erkheim, Germany.

The move follows the merging of Extrude Hone companies VMB Vorrichtungs- und Maschinenbau Babenhausen GmbH, Babenhausen and DIVA-TEC GmbH, Erkheim, both in Germany. VMB Vorrichtungs- und Maschinenbau Babenhausen GmbH is recognised worldwide as an ECM deburring specialist, while DIVA-TEC GmbH is a manufacturer of custom-built ECM systems for electrolytic deburring, profiling and sinking. The merged companies now form Extrude Hone VMB GmbH. The 1800 m² new ECM Centre of Excellence in Erkheim will undertake research and development, machine build and assembly, systems and control fabrication, purchasing and sales. The facility employs around 180 people. The ECM sub-contract department of VMB Entgrattechnik GmbH remains in Babenhausen but it will be re-located to Erkheim in September 2006.
