ETG’s website has a new machine selector tool
1 min read
The Engineering Technology Group has added a great new feature to its website – a machine selector tool, similar to those used on buying and selling websites for cars.

Users initially select either 'Milling ' or 'Turning' machines and they are then taken to the selector page where all of the machines are listed.
Users can then filter down their 'wants' by clicking/unclicking boxes down the left- hand side of the page for manufacturer, control and alignment.
For the milling machines, users can also filter by table, spindles, X-axis size and axes. For the turning machines, users can filter by positioning, spindles, bar capacity and chuck size.
The firm is moving into e-commerce with this filterable machine tool selector because it says the website is increasingly the first 'port of call' for new business.
Buyers can even filter their options to see a 'guide price' for their choices and additionally instruct the manufacturer to build a bespoke machine suited to their application.
"The machine selector tool is widely used by the leading car marque's that encourage would-be buyers to build a car for purpose" explains Martin Doyle, ETG's group sales director. "We thought the very same rules apply in a capital purchase, such as a machine tool, and as the manufacturers we represent are increasingly flexible in the way they build machines - based on modular or cellular construction - we think it is a positive move."
